Voting Opens May 14th for National ENA Elections
Voting for this year’s national election begins May 14, and ends at Noon Central time on Wednesday, June 12. ENA’s Bylaws classify voting members as national, international, senior and military. Voting members must be active by May 1, 2013, to be eligible to vote. Affiliate and student members do not have voting privileges. Click here to meet the candidates.
2013 WA-ENA Educational Assistance Awards Announced
Each year, WA-ENA awards three Educational Assistance Awards in the amount of $1,000 each. These are awarded to applicants who are emergency nurses pursuing a higher or advanced degree or a student nurse with an interest in pursuing a career in emergency nursing. This year had a record number of applicants making the decision extremely difficult for the selection committee. “Congratulations to those selected”, stated Beki Hammons, RN, 2013 WA-ENA President. “Their applications demonstrated a strong commitment to current and future emergency nursing.”
Congratulations to the following recipients of the 2013 Educational Assistance Program:

- Taylor Mattheisen - Gonzaga University
- Renee Paulette - Tacoma Community College
Nomination Open for 2014 WA-ENA Executive Board
The nomination period for the 2014 Executive Board open until May 15, 2013. The positions that will be put to a membership vote are: President-elect; Secretary; and Treasurer-Elect. If you know of a WA-ENA member who would be willing to serve in any of these positions, please contact Karin Kloppel, Membership Committee Chair at k2kloppel@yahoo.com. Elections will be held closer to summertime with the elected officials taking office on January 1, 2014.
WA-ENA Delegate Applications for 2013 ENA General Assembly
The delegate applications for the 2013 ENA General Assembly are now available. The minimum requirements to serve as a WA-ENA delegate are current ENA membership and attendance of at least one (1) WA-ENA State Council Meeting between August 2012 and April 2013.

We are a not-for-profit organization and are the professional organization for emergency nurses dedicated to quality patient care, public safety, continuing education, nursing research and promotion of the nursing profession.
